Tons of beautiful powder accumulates each year at this aptly named resort.. The Scene
Powder Mountain lives up to its name, offering access to 5,500 acres of terrain that accumulates an annual average of 500 inches of snow--that's a lot of powder.

Terrain
Seven lifts serve 72 runs over much of the terrain, although about half of it is still accessible only by foot or snowmobile. The Meadows Express Cat is now accessible by a fixed-grip quad, "Paradise Lift." This gets you to 1,200 acres of ungroomed and gladed terrain on weekends and holidays. A shuttle service allows skiers to enjoy 1,200 more acres of backcountry-style terrain, known as Powder Country, without having to hitch a ride back to the lifts. Hungry for more? The area also offers guided tours into the surrounding backcountry on Alpine Touring (a.k.a. randonnee) equipment.

New This Year
The resort claims more acreage than any other resort in the state. Most of this must be accessed either by foot or by snowmobile for an extra fee. But with the extra acreage and the smaller crowd, it's probably worth the extra six bucks.
