My favorite because the staff are all real fun, their sushi is very good, and I dont walk away feeling like I just paid double what I should have. Love their Lava, Vegas, and Mango rolls for dessert are TOO DIE FOR!!! I REALLY REALLY wish they would start serving brown rice every night. Cmon Windy's... rice is cheap.. itd only cost you a couple bucks a night to have it ready..even if no one orders it! PLEASE
My new favorite place!. I saw the reviews on here so I had a mixed feeling but HOLY CRAP it was WAY better than I expected. How can anyone give them one star?? Jealous competitors or someone who was fired? Either way I couldn't believe how good everything was. Once you step in the restaurant, it's pretty nice and very cozy. We sat in the tea room. This is my new favorite Japanese restaurant for sure. I'm so glad I went there!! Food=delish. Service=excellent. Decor=unique for older restaurant. Value=very very affordable. BTW, we had calamari, misia roll, green eyed blonde, sukiyaki beef, yakisoba, katsu-don and more. Oh and greentea ice cream was SO good. I'm hungry for more!!!
Ogden's Hidden Treasure.
Here are some of our favorites:
Calamari--the BEST and MUST, Garlicky Edamame--our new favorite, Agedashi --delicious, Albacore Tataki--Phenomenal, and we love their Nigiri sushi--they are fresh and portion is great!! Get grated wasabi instead of regular. They are very reasonably priced for what you are getting.
Service is impeccable. Waitresses are very friendly and knowledgeable.
All I can say is TRY. Windy’s is a place where you can get fresh and elegant sushi without the formalities. Just gotta keep going back.
Absolutely Disgusting. This was the most disgusting sushi we have ever had. It was EXTREMELY fishy. Would not recommend this to anyone.
Don't waste your time or money!. We were told by several people that this restaraunt was fabulous, so we tried it for my birthday. I LOVE sushi, and was so excited to eat here. Unfortunately we were beyond disappointed. The sushi was HORRIBLE!! It was fishy, and just didn't satisfy us at all. (i should have known to go by my rule of thumb- if you walk into a place that smells fishy, you probably should be careful what you order. the sushi was the worst i've ever had). $45 dollars later, i was very unhappy with the experience and i will not be returning.
great place to eat. I enjoyed the tea rooms with the little garden outside. Excellent place to take a date. Made me forget i was actually in a city.
Surprisingly fantastic Sushi in Ogden Utah.
I travel a bunch for my job. When I travel I make it a point to sample the best sushi I can find in each of the cities I visit (while it is on the companies dime of course).
My wife and I recently moved from another part of Utah and were craving Sushi tonight but didn't know where to go. We were afraid that there wouldn't be a place to get good Sushi outside of the salt lake valley. Well I can say that we both agree that the food we got tonight from Windy's Sukiyaki was the best we have had, not just in Utah but anywhere I've been. We loved the food and the restaraunt seemed to have a great feel to it. We got our food takeout but I look forward to taking my wife there on a date night.
Great Date Resturant. This is probably the best date spot in the area. It's nice enough to make you feel good but casual enough that you can relax. Get one of the tea rooms, order whatever you want, and you'll still get out of there without busting your budget.
Welcome to Japan.
Wether you are looking for a taste of Japan or just a fun night out Windy's Sukiyaki is the place for you.
I highly recommend the Private Dining, it is slightly more expensive for everything on the menu. But it is a great escape from the normal dining and from the city, the view outside is of a lovely garden.
All things considered if you like Japanese food you can't go wrong with this place.
Experienced Patron. Having been a regular for the past 15 years, I have never had a bad experiance. I would recommend reserving a "Tea Room" for the best atmosphere. Whether it be a nice quite meal for 2, or a gathering of several friends, it is a wonderful place to dine. The dress is casual, and comfortable. Most patrons prefer children not be brought in to the Tea Rooms due to the fact that they are open air, and the noise does travel.
