Big auto theft and damage problem.
Food is o.k. My complaint is with management. The location on 400 S. in Salt Lake is the frequent target of smash-and-grab thiefs. My laptop was stolen and window broken. I didn't even have to give the location of this restaurant to the police when I mentioned Chuck-A-Rama. Detective says these thefts "are a huge problem" for the SLPD, particularly at this location. Mngmt. at restaurant knows of the problem and has done nothing, despite dozens and dozens of break-ins, to ensure safety of its patrons. They even turned their one surveillance camera AWAY from the parking lot, and instead pointed it towards the back door. The president of the company does not return calls and will not speak to customers about the issue. Stay away from this location if you want your car in one piece when you're done dining.

Impressive Salad Bar.
This is the perfect place is you have a lot of kids. At least it would seem that way with the hundreds of them running around unsupervised. The food was above average for a discount buffet. The salad bar is the hightlight. They have a few differnt types of lettuce and the most toppings that have have seen at this type of buffet. Don't expect to find your new favorite resurant but if you are looking for a cheap luch and choices this will do.

The epitome of Utah's bulk dining scene..
The Scene
If the many shades of gray are a barometer, Chuck-a-Rama is a favorite eating place for Utah's senior citizens. Also popular with families with lots of children.
The Food
Be prepared to maneuver your way around buffet areas that are loaded with fruits, salads and salad fixings. Another offers side dishes and yet another boasts fried chicken, roast beef and a myriad of other main course ideas. The dessert table, of course, commands center stage and offers everything from Rice Krispie treats to banana cream pie.
What to Order
There's nothing wrong with the homemade mashed potatoes or the fresh, warm scones (make sure you smother them with honey). Otherwise, give it all a try--it is a buffet, you know.
