I have brought coins in to sell to them multiple times and they are always very friendly with me and they go through each coin and tell me what they will pay for it. I am happy with my experiences and will continue to trust them. They have been in business for a long time and I can see why they have been successful. I don't really understand the other negative reviews, they must have had a bad attitude going into the store, looking for something wrong. Also, we all know credit card companies charge the business, not the person paying. Only silver and gold bullion are cash which I have seen are clearly labeled on the case.
Underpaid for Coins Only Discovering It Later.
I brought coins to sell at Sanders and found that the calculations used to tell me what my coins were worth were way undervalued after I left. They do this for a living and their calculations should be made clear to the customer.
I trusted them and got screwed. If you have to take coins into this place, ask them to write down the number of coins, the value per coin on the receipt, then take a calculator with you and double-check all calculations before you leave the store.
Yes, you have to do this, and they won't like explaining it to you either. I felt like pulling teeth with every question I asked, and they seemed offended when I asked them to clarify several items. Again, I left the store, believing the calculations they made were correct but the amounts were way undervalued when I double-checked them at home. I felt I was taken advantage of.
My experience was poor. I would recommend as others going to another dealer in Ogden or traveling out of the city. Disappointing. Find someone who wants to provide better customer service and explain things to you and show you their calculations.
I made a mistake by going here. Be alert if you do business with them.
Nice people, honest about products and services..
I have been coming to Sanders for many years and have never had a bad experience with them. I have gone to many other dealers over the years and find that the Sanders family is honest and very considerate. I will continue to do business with them for all of my precious metal purchases.
I know when I but Bullion the rule has always been cash only and they have always told me politely that is the rule because of the price jumping that can occur so rapidly. I know I always call first to see what money I need to bring ahead of time. I know you can not buy any bullion on their online store because they say the price changes daily, silver eagles are not bullion.
Like I said, I have been doing business with them for years and plan to continue. They are fair, honest and always willing to answer any questions about buying and selling gold, silver and any other coins I need.
Very Bad Experiences.
Not a nice atmosphere or pricing. It is as if you are encroaching on them when trying to do business. The spreads on their precious metals are the widest of any dealer I've ever traded with.
It is worth your time to drive to one of the Salt Lake dealers.
Not a friendly place.
I went to Sanders looking to buy some silver coins. No where is it mentioned on line that they only accept cash for gold and silver transactions. They offer gold and silver sales online via electronic transactions, but not in store purchases.
The attitude of the employees and manager was haughty to say the least. When I mentioned the fact that I could buy silver on line with an electronic transaction, they just scoffed at me said that they don't offer silver sales online.
When I got back home, I double checked and they had raised the price of their Silver Eagles by $5.00. Yep they do indeed sell silver online. Please don't lie to me.
They told me that they do accept cash, but not plastic. I told them that my pin number was as good as cash. They said sorry, I said you just lost a customer. I would do a lot of business with them if they were more friendly to their customers.
After thinking about it, their attitude was so bad that even if I would have brought cash, I would not do business with them. Nor will I ever do business with them.
Lots of gold and silver dealers out there.
