This fun community hangout offers everything from formal exhibits to cooking classes.. Background The history of the Eccles Community Art Center stretches back to 1893, when it was built by James Clarence Armstrong. The Eccles family acquired it three years later and
allowed groups such as the Girl Scouts, Drama Club, Child Culture Club, Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Red Cross to use their house for meetings.
Education Bertha Eccles, who facilitated the use of the building as a community center, requested that the structure remain intact for educational and cultural development. Eventually it fell into the hands of the Ogden Community Arts Councilpeople dedicated to fulfilling Bertha Eccles wishes.
Activities Today you can take classes in visual arts and dance, check out the latest featured artists in two galleries, take a tour through the history of the house, or plan a meeting or a recital in one of the many rooms. And the possibilities will continue to grow.…
