Does not recommend ! We went and got an estimate. Once they had our truck the owner told us he now figured the cost would be nearly $100.00 more. It was still the same parts and procedures. He offered no real explanation or reason just shrugged as if it were nothing and commented "That's if we were very lucky they were able to repair it like he had originally suggested with the quote at all." He said he really wasn't sure when they would be able to start work on it right now anyway. We told him once they found out to let us know before going ahead with any more work. We told him we could not to spend any more to fix it at this time. We would have to save up more money to finish fixing it. The next time we heard from him, was him saying the truck was done and to come pick it up. They had gone ahead and done other unauthorized work on it that he thought ought to be done as long as he had the opportunity. Again at exorbitant rates for parts and labor. We got a quote from the dealership first. It was quite outrageous and that is why we took it elsewhere. Evans' charges were beyond what even the Nissan Dealer charges. And they were not going to try and guess what work may or may not need to be done. No need to be really lucky to to get the job done either. Very poor and shady business practices at best.I definitely would not call them reputable, fair or honest. What's more the owner just did not seem to care about it at all.

Slowest Shop Ever. They had my car for almost two months and they did nothing! They kept telling me one more week...one more week....I eventually got sick of it and took it somewhere else only to find out Evans Automotive lost a part to my car! Unbelievably slow and unprofessional.

Terrible Automotive Shop!!!. The mechanics at Evans Automotive are NOT knowledgeable and perform shoddy work. I had my car in there early last year for a clutch replacement. Afterwards the car started making terrible popping noises. I took the car back less than a week later and they claimed they didn't hear anything and told me to bring it back if I kept hearing the noise.

After several visits to Evans Automotive throughout the summer for the same popping issue they replaced other parts that had nothing to do with the noise (linkage stabilizer bars, bushings, etc...) and claimed the car had been fixed. Of course they charged me for all of these things that didn't need replacement to begin with. The noise became so bad that simply driving the car started to freak me out! I thought it was going to fall apart on the freeway! Their mechanics still claimed to hear nothing.

After visiting Evans Automotive five or six times to have the popping issue resolved I decided to stop by a local tire shop to see if they could hear the noise. They not only immediately heard the noise while pulling the car into their garage, but diagnosed it (in about 10 minutes) as a bad clutch. I didn't trust Evans Automotive to touch my car again so I had to pay somebody else to install a whole new clutch. I got the old parts back and it looks like the throw out bearing was never replaced which is a vital part of any clutch!

As a side note, I also had Evans Automotive replace a few other things on my car during my visits there last year. They replaced my rear tires, but failed to balance them (which should be common knowledge). They replaced my brake rotors with some of "higher quality" which failed a year later. When they replaced the linkage bushings I got a second opinion from a shop in Salt Lake City and found out that the new bushings were not even designed for my car.

If you are thinking of taking your car here please do yourself a favor and go somewhere more reputable. I wish I would have known these things up front so I could have avoided the whole disaster.

Expert mechanic, and honest. Evans immediately found the problem with my axle, correcting a misdiagnosis from a different garage. They got my replacement parts at a reasonable price and quickly fixed it when I was in a pinch. From what I hear, they are among the best in the Bountiful/North Salt Lake area.
