Murdock sales great, service department... – I've purchased a few cars from Murdock, never felt like I was getting taken advantage of or forced to buy something I didnt like. I've worked with Marlin Nelson and he's always done right by me, sales have always been great. Now the service department, they're another story.
The first car I purchased from them was sold to me with a bent strut and the car kept pulling to the left, they replaced it, and the exhaust for free because the exhaust had a few dings in it. After that suddenly a lot of the people I knew there suddenly were gone, so was the good, honest service. Apparently they were let go for being honest.
I purchased a Colorado from them that was making a very loud noise when I would shift into 4 wheel drive, I took it back a few times and they insisted nothing was wrong. Well, as soon as the warranty expired it broke down and sure enough, it was for the very reason I had been complaining about. I told them I had complained several times about it and that I was not going to pay since they told me there was nothing wrong while it was under warranty. They refused to do it for free so we had to come to some sort of agreement that would be cheaper. But I was NOT happy I had to pay at all but knew I couldn't get it repaired cheaper anywhere else.
So a few months later the window started rolling up very slowly so I took it in, the guy I worked with told me I needed to replace the window motor which would cost 100's of dollars, I took it to a mechanic and he told me to grease the tracks. It fixed the problem immediately. I won't be going back to their service department.
In short, sales department is great, the service department, not so much.
Probably won't go to again – We bought a car here and weren't too impressed. The price we paid for our car wasn't terribly bad, but wasn't good either. If we hadn't driven from out of state and in desperate need of another car, I probably would have walked out on the deal.
When we took the car on a test drive one of the windshield wipers flew off. It's not that big of a deal, but it did make me question their used car inspections. And then when we took delivery of the car after they "detailed" it, there was still sticky stuff in some of the cup holders and some of the panels felt like they were never wiped down.
I did like that our salesman didn't seem very pushy, and everyone we met seemed to be pretty nice, but I can't see us ever buying a car from them again.
Very Impressed – I appreciate the consideration that they personally gave to my Avalanche purchase. They enabled me to feel confident that I am well equipped to meet the needs of my construction business as a result of the resolution we came up with regarding my situation and needs. I am truly thankful for the attention they gave to this matter and the admirable way they handled it. I am a customer for life. I deal with a custom oriented clientele that want to improve and expand their living space in one form or another. I rely primarily on referrals from my satisfied customers. My vehicles are always kept in top shape and I receive many compliments and inquiries from people about them. Those people, and my customers, are all going to know that I am an impressed and satisfied customer of Murdock Chevrolet and I will not hesitate to refer them to Murdock and their fine dealership.
Last guy wins! – aside from liking his review, i also like his name. ha ha...panamonster. get your cars here!!!! honest and good people. best prices anywhere in the valley. try em'.
What? Best place to get an oil change! – I am a busy person with 6 cars, so whenever I need my oil changed, I take it to these guys. My oil change is always done in under 45 minutes, and usually under 30 minutes. And while I wait, they have televisions, a comfortable waiting room, and free drinks. I will never go anywhere else for an oil change.
Uninformed – I had purchased a van in 2000, Things went well enough. Then in February of 2003 I returned and ask for a CNG converted Cavalier. They had not idea what I was talking about. I bought a 2001 model out of Arizona in 2008. CAn you imagine how much money in gas I could have saved had they gotten me a CNG car back in 2003. General Motors converted Cavaliers in 2000-2005.
The pain never stops – Do not buy anything from these guys! I found this great car last year at Murdock Chevrolet. I was told it was "Certified". Now, I have always thought that certified meant, it had been inspected and ready to sale in Good condition. I chose a name that seemed to have a good reputation, Murdock. Bad judgement on my part.. The first rain storm came soon after I purchaesed this car, and the sunroof had a major leak, I mean major, we got wet and the water distributed within the roof and upolstery. I had it looked at by a sun roof installer. It was not a factory install?? Certified? I called Murdock and got a "to bad so sad" response. So, a year later, the tint on the window will not pass inspection. Funny, it passed Murdocks inspection?? So, you would think a reputable dealer would have no problem with a $80.00 fix. NOPE! The "will not help with anything" attitude is disgusting" AVOID this place. Your better off buying through Auto Trader than these guys. Really..
My dad bought truck from them and they had to replace five times in row windshield,because their service did not know how to adjust it,and I have had so terible experinece like that person,saidf,truck is there on web site,but Not in their lot.AVOID!!!
TERRIBLE DEALER – We found 4 cars online that we wanted to look at, when we got there, not one of them were on their lot. One they didn't even know where it was, 2 were already sold and the other one had the wrong pics and info on the website. We find another one we like, they give us a price and then say, "oh, by the way these wheels and tires won't be on it." So we let that go and then we just got one lie after another. They told us to go get lunch and they would call within 45 min. Of course, no call, so we call them and they tell us they have been too busy. Oddly enough, while we were there for 4 hours, there were hardly any customers and all the employees were standing around with nothing to do. We were there on Saturday, it is now Monday evening and after being told at least 4 times they would call us back, they never have yet. I finally call them and once again all they can say is how busy they are.
